Synthia  graduated from Spalding University with a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She helped found The Renaissance Project Theatre in Decatur, GA  where she went on to become a Director in Residence for the 2005 – 2008 seasons. She was also the Acting Director for the Theatre for Youth Program  for 3 years. Synthia is one of the founders,  Associate Artistic Director and Playwright in Residence of New African Grove Theatre Company in Atlanta. Four of her plays have been produced and one accepted into the 2013 National Black Theatre Festival, as well as, the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival.  She is also one of the first recipients of the Decatur Arts Alliance Seed Grants for her play Domestic Damages.
